Virginie Epron created the Lolita Pompadour brand of costume jewellery in 1998 in Paris.

After graduating from a school of graphic arts, Virginie trained with a jewellery designer who worked with a number of fashion designers.
She then joined the Emmanuel Ungaro studio, where she stayed for several years, gaining a wealth of privileged experience that consolidated her know-how and imbued her with a  desire to go off in her own direction.

Ahead of the "neo-boudoir" trend, she combined two styles in her new brand:

"Lolita": title of the famous novel by Nabokov, with its playful, bittersweet, sexy, kitsch side and offbeat humour…

"Pompadour": a tribute to Madame de Pompadour, mistress of Louis XV, a brilliant, attractive, cultured and sensitive woman, with a lingerie-style line in the spirit of the 18th century, the Second Empire, with a slightly fetishist touch…

The femininity, glamour and the sexy aspect of the Lolita Pompadour brand take the form of  the sensual materials like black lace, satin ribbons, leather, feathers, pearls, paste cameos,  Swarovski strass jewels, symbols of a timeless, sensitive femininity.

As her experience grew and encounters with other influences multiplied, her style matured and took shape and her career took an atypical turn.

In May 2000, the singer Björk wore a necklace of flowers made of anise green feathers signed by Lolita Pompadour (more Lolita than Pompadour) when she received her Best Actress prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2003, Virginie met Chantal Thomass, for whom she provided the accessories for a memorable fashion show, an opportunity that was more than conducive to the development of the Pompadour side of the brand; a successful collaboration, as after that her jewellery went on sale in the Chantal Thomass store in Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris as well as in the Moscow shop.

This was the beginning of the brand's recognition by the general public.

Today, after winning the designer of the year award, she has become the Ambassador of the Bijorhca-Eclat de Mode fair, representing "Paris, Capital of Creation…" during the year 2007.
